Mold often appears in areas where moisture sticks around

These are areas like basements, crawlspaces, and rooms without good airflow. Mold spores can cause allergies and asthma, and ongoing dampness can weaken wood and damage drywall, lowering your home’s value. In Michigan, with its humid summers and rainy seasons, even minor problems can quickly get worse if not addressed.

Why Mold Control Matters

Mold thrives in hidden, damp environments, such as crawlspaces, basements, and attics. Because up to 50% of the air you breathe indoors comes from below grade, what’s growing down there travels through your whole home.

Mold can:

Mold isn’t just a surface issue; it’s a problem affecting air quality and moisture levels. Lasting protection means fixing the source of moisture, then remediating safely and preventing it from returning.

Our Mold Control Services

Mold is a moisture problem first. We identify the growth, remove it safely, and address the conditions that allow it to return. Our services cover every step from education to remediation and prevention:

What's the Process for Professional Mold Cleanup?

Mold cleanup involves more than just wiping surfaces; it requires a professional process to remove spores, restore air quality, and prevent mold from recurring. Here’s what to expect with Mold Control by Cut ‘N Dry Waterproofing:

Not Sure Where to Start?

Choose the scenario that sounds most like your home, and we’ll point you to the best first step.

Visible Mold (Spots or Staining)

Start with Mold Inspection & Testing to confirm the scope, then Mold Remediation

Musty Odors, but No Noticeable Mold

Begin with Mold Inspection & Testing. After cleanup, consider Air Quality Solutions (CIMR) for ongoing whole-home protection.

Standing Water, Damp Basement, or Crawlspace After Rain

Tackle moisture first with Crawlspace & Basement Drainage and Sump Pumps, then follow up with Mold Remediation where mold growth is present.

High Humidity or Condensation on Walls/Ducts

Choose Crawlspace Repair & Encapsulation to seal ground moisture. Then, if mold growth exists, proceed with Mold Remediation.

Wet Walls or Cracks Letting Water In

Stop the source of water with Foundation Waterproofing, then pair it with Mold Remediation if mold is present.

After a Flood or Sewage Backup

Immediate Mold Remediation followed by Crawlspace or Basement Drainage System + Sump Pump to prevent flooding from happening again.

If more than one of these situations applies, we’ll build a simple step-by-step plan.

On Schedule, Thorough, and Clean

Carla had two worries: a musty crawlspace and the headache of contractors who don’t show up or fail to complete what they promise. Our Mold Control team inspected, explained the plan, and provided her with a clear and affordable quote. On the exact start date, the crew arrived, set containment, and got to work: remediating the mold, addressing moisture concerns, and cleaning up so the space looked cared for, not just “worked in.” Afterward, we walked the area with her, answered her questions, and checked back to ensure everything remained dry and odor-free.

“I was given an affordable quote for mold remediation and waterproofing… Unlike most contractors, Crawlspace* stayed on task and started the work on the exact date I was scheduled for… My crawlspace is very clean and safe now… Crawlspace Remediation* will follow through with you even after work is completed.”

Had an outside crawlspace encapsulated with mold remediation and a beautiful new door installed. Excellent all around. Guys that did it were always professional, on time and informed us every day, over the 3 days they were here, what they were doing that day. Highly recommend!

I used Crawlspace Remediation to inspect/treat the mold in my attic. They are very responsive, reasonably priced, and did great quality work. I would use them again (but hopefully won't need to)!

I highly recommend Crawlspace Remediation LLC. I was given an affordable quote for mold remediation and waterproofing by Nick. Brianna, the Office Manager then put me on their schedule. Unlike most contractors , Crawlspace stayed on task and started the work on the exact date I was scheduled for. Nick P and Arthur were skilled and professional in doing every item of work on my estimate and even went out the extra mile by spraying to rid an ant swarm and mopped my laundry room —- without an extra charge . My crawlspace is very clean and safe now. Unlike most companies that get your money and then when you reach out later with a question and never get a call back , Crawlspace Remediation will follow through with you even after work is completed to answers questions or whatever. I am so happy I chose this company!

My husband and I needed some serious work done to our crawlspace. Buying our home, we were burdened with the previous home owners lack of Maintenance under the house. Littered with debris, garbage, hanging wires, mold, leaks. We had numerous quotes on encapsulating our crawlspace. We were skeptical from the start as anyone is hiring someone for a big job. We hired crawlspace remediation and are so incredibly thankful we did. Brendan and Ryan came out for the job. Estimated 6 day job and they even got the job done a day early. They were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Polite and professional. These two worked so hard the entire time they were here. They removed and disposed all debris/old insulation, insulated exterior walls with the foam board, insulated box headers, added vapor barriers, added drainage system, treated mold, added extended downspout, the list goes on and on. They completely saved our crawlspace, our minds are blown at what a difference it is now under our house. We are incredibly grateful for the extreme amount of quality work they performed and couldn't be happier with our choice in the company! They didn't leave any mess behind and were not disruptive to our daily routine. These guys deserve all the praise for their outstanding job! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! If you are unsure and nervous about having any work done, unsure of getting honest work for the price, please don't hesitate to give them a call. Their work and pricing is honest, quality work, and professional. We highly recommend crawlspace remediation!

Frequently Asked Questions

Mold can be a confusing problem for many homeowners. Here are some answers to the questions we hear most often:

Musty odors, visible discoloration on surfaces, and allergy-like symptoms indoors are common signs. Professional testing can confirm hidden mold.

Bleach only treats surface mold. It doesn’t address hidden growth or airborne spores, so the problem usually comes back.

Most residential projects can be finished in 1–3 days, depending on access, size, and the severity of the issue.

Not if the moisture source is fixed. We pair remediation with prevention through encapsulation, drainage/sump, foundation waterproofing, and dehumidification, resolving conditions that feed the mold.

CIMR is optional but recommended after remediation and moisture control. It continuously helps reduce airborne spores and odors. It’s designed for ongoing, whole-home air quality improvement.

Coverage varies by policy. Many insurers exclude mold unless a covered event, such as a burst pipe, causes it.

Still have questions? We'll inspect, explain what's driving the water, and map out clear options, no pressure.
